As an engineer, I like solving difficult problems. Venture investing provides a steady supply of them - so I’m hoping to crack at least a couple in my lifetime.

Through academia, I spent time on aerospace research alongside a defence company in the UK. It offered a close look at the technologies that sit quietly behind modern security and operational infrastructure. One thing became obvious fairly quickly: how slowly important innovations move from promising ideas to tools that reach the people who depend on them.

In defence, navigating the path from design to real-world capability is often long and complex. Much of what we do sits in navigating that transition - between founders tinkering and the people responsible for deploying them. As Europe looks to strengthen its resilience, shortening that journey and feedback loop now matters more than ever.

More often than not, outside of this, you’ll most likely find me lost somewhere on the hills in the Brecon Beacons with a compass in hand.

Professional Bio

Before joining Keen, I was part of Expansion, an early-stage fund investing in DefenceTech and NewSpace companies across Europe, backing Pre-Seed to Series A founders building critical technologies for resilience and strategic autonomy in aerospace and defence. Earlier in my career I was at Mentmore Capital, a search fund focused on acquiring and operating UK-based industrial businesses through a buy-and-build strategy.

I hold an MSc in Aerospace Dynamics from Cranfield University and a First-Class BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Bournemouth University.
